Come see BIMserver at FOSS4G conference
In October this year the next FOSS4G conference will be organized in Sydney. The community behind the open source BIMserver has provided two abstracts for presentations. Both abstracts are about the next generation implementation of the BIMserver features. Because the topic of FOSS4G is geographic information systems (GIS) both abstracts we provided are about the link between BIM and GIS. Currently this is one of the important topics for the next generation of BIMserver software. When you like these topics you can vote for the abstracts. The abstracts with the most votes will be invited to give a presentation.
Voting can be done on this site http://2009.foss4g.org/presentations/ You have to register first, but don’t let that keep you! The abstracts are titled: “BIMserver.org: integrating BIM and GIS” and “CityGML extension for Building Information Modelling (BIM) and IFC”. The two paper-abstracts are the only one with the tag ‘bim’ so you can jump right to them by clicking here.
We hope that a presentation in Sydney will create enthusiastic developers for these specific features of the BIMserver or, even better, create a link between Geoserver, Deegree and BIMserver.org.
I voted for both sessions and will encourage others to do the same.
